Back Row Cornets

Mark Limbert

Soprano Cornet

Mark has been playing since the age of 11 starting his playing career with the Rushden Windmill Band. He enjoyed much success with the “Windmill” until a career move meant re-locating to Cambridgeshire where he soon joined Soham Commarades. It was here that Mark mastered the Soprano cornet and went on to play with Soham at the 1st Section National Finals held at Wembley. International business took Mark to Singapore for 2 years when during this period playing took a back seat. On his return to UK Mark returned to his roots and initially took up a front row post at the Windmill. However just as at Soham, the Sop player left and Mark temporarily stepped in….8 years later and another National Finals under his belt Mark took a break. Living in Towcester now playing with TSB seemed the obvious thing to do so Mark is currently sharing his experience and enjoying stress free life on the back row… for the moment.

Laura Winspear
Repiano Cornet

Committee Member

Laura began playing the trumpet at the age of 11 under the tuition of Adele Sellers. Enjoying  membership of a number of NMPAT county groups, Laura became principal trumpet of the County Youth Orchestra,  County Youth Concert Band, and Principal Cornet of the County Youth Brass Band.  In order to improve her sight reading Laura originally joined the band in the year 2000 (a great period for the band who won the the Midlands Regional Area, and rose to the championship section over the next few years). Laura left the band to study History at University and after some time living in Australia and London, Laura is now happily settled in Duston, Northampton with her husband, three children and four cats. (She is still working on her sight reading!)
