Registration is now OPEN

As part of their Arts Council England supported ‘Having a Blast in Towcester’ project, we are delighted to announce that registration is now open for a Workshop & Concert day. This key event is being held at Northampton School for Boys (NSB) on Saturday 13th January and will include the formation of a Workshop Band that will perform alongside the famous Foden’s Band in the evening concert.

The NSB Workshop Band will be coached by Mike Fowles, Foden’s MD, and tutors form the Band. Break-out sessions will afford participants tuition time with worldclass players and the opportunity to perform alongside them in the concert. The concert will also feature a world premiere of a piece composed especially for this event, by John Barber, Foden’s principal trombone. The theme of the composition is centred on Northamptonshire’s Boot & Show heritage.

The workshop is limited to circa 50 players so please book your place early to avoid disappointment. All successful applicants will be notified about music chosen for the workshop/concert, in the first week of January. Music copy will be provided via pdf in advance, with extra copies available on the day.

The evening concert will give brass band fans in our region the opportunity to see and hear the world famous Foden’s Band.

Foden’s are the reigning British Open Champions, newly crowned Brass in Concert Champions and narrowly missed out retaining their National Champions Title in October. They are very much looking forward to visiting Northampton in January.

Tickets for the concert only are available from the Cripps Hall Theatre website.
