Mr Peter Bell

Peter, together with brothers Bill and Ken, were key to the Band becoming strongly established after the Second Wold War. Through the hard work, direction and dedication of Peter’s father William Bell Snr, the Band went from strength to strength post war and set the foundation of the community focused organisation that TSB is today. Mr Bell Snr’s legacy was expertly managed by sons Bill (Bandmaster), Ken (Secretary) and Peter (Treasurer) through a wonderful period in TSB’s growth. Their leadership resulted in our wonderful Bandhall being built and opened in 1958.

Peter was a talented member of the trombone section, enjoyed a joke and always provided a friendly ear to anyone seeking his advice. Since he stopped playing several years ago Peter and son Dave were regulars at St Lawrence church whenever TSB were in concert!

Peter’s sons, Richard (Trombone), Ian (Cornet) and Dave (Bass) all took up the challenge to be members of first the junior band and then progressing into the senior band and it is to them and brother Ken that all at TSB send heartfelt condolences.

RIP Peter, another TSB legend moves on to Brass Band heaven!
