On March 25th 2023, TSB cornet players Tash Jardine and Holly Winspear took part in the National Youth Brass Band Championships (in the ABRSM championship section). The day started with a two and a half hour coach journey, where the girls played games and listened to music. When they arrived at Stockport Grammar School, they were given wristbands and escorted to the sport hall. As the band had a rather early draw, they had a quick rehearsal and then started preparing for thier performance. The programme featured a piece composed by one of the young trombonists 'Exousia' and a solo 'And All For Tomorrow' featuring the principal euphonium . Following their performance (for which they received the Silver award) they went to have their photographs taken. The weekend did not stop there - they also went on to play at the annual NMPAT brass band spectacular the next day. All in all, it was a very exciting experience that they were very proud to take part in.
We (at TSB) are very proud of the many youngsters who have played with both us and the NMPAT organisation over many years, Tash and Holly are the most recent TSB members that are flourishing being part of both organisations.
